Before, we were living under the bridge in a small homemade tent. There were many mosquitoes, and we slept on pieces of cardboard. At night, rats would climb over us while we were sleeping. One time, Prince was bitten by rats and became very sick with fever. We had to bring him to the hospital because of rabies. He received a rabies shot and had to stay in quarantine for one week.

I first met Sarah when we were sleeping outside near the church by the bridge. At that time, Prince had no milk. Sarah bought milk for him and helped us. Later, the Portion team came back and invited us to bring Prince to the Baby’s House. He stayed there for three weeks because he was very weak and sick. During that time, the team cared for him, and he gained weight and became healthy again before returning home.

After we joined the program, our lives began to change. Before, we only ate one meal a day,

and we never attended church. Now we are able to eat regularly. I have learned how to pray at home, and our family has started going to church together. My daughter used to spend most of her time playing on the phone, but now every Sunday she asks to go to church. Recently, she gave her life to the Lord and was baptized.

Today, we are thankful because our situation has improved. We now live in a home with a roof and proper flooring, which is much more comfortable. Portion also provided school uniforms and supplies so our children can attend school.

We are very grateful for Prince’s good health, for food to eat each day, and for our children to have the opportunity to go to school. Our family is thankful for the help and care we received.
